Three hours' sleep

And an earful of thunder
It's no wonder
I hate these storms in middle of night
that split the legitimately darkened sky
with blasts of flashing, fleeting light
and sudden, loud noise that makes me fear.
It's hard to sleep with finger in ear

must I continue to bail this 'bounty' from on high?)
